The other day I had the opportunity to photograph some super-cool bands at Homesick’s show at the Hard Luck. First off were Jersey indie-rockers Pinegrove, followed by The Sidekicks. This was my first time listening to either band, and I have to say, I left as a very impressed Katie.
Up next were The World is a Beautiful Place and I am No Longer Afraid to Die. As you can guess with a name like that, nothing about this band is small. The eight-piece crowded onto the tiny set of the venue, and captivated the audience with talent on par with the length of their title.
Closing up the show were Into It. Over It.. I was running on no dinner (yay for poor day planning!) in a venue that had essentially turned into a sauna, so for my own health I unfortunately had to take off after getting some photos of them. This means that the following review is from my awesome friend Rob!
The band was very active, and the people and band were both having a lot of fun. Everyone was smiling and having a damn good time. The crowd was going super hard for songs off of their album Proper, while still really enjoying the slower stuff off of Intersections and their new album Standards. They ended the set with Midnight: Carroll Street, during which — I kid you not — I saw someone throwing down to it. That was a first! So generally, just a really fun set.
As usual, more photos down below!!
